Before most of us knew there was
a place known as Alice

Springs, in the days of camel teams and pack horses, there were two stores in Alice Springs - F.B. Wallis & Co. and J. Fogarty & Co. - both serving a handful of pioneers making their home in a tough new country.

In 1924 these two companies merged into a limited company known as Wallis Fogarty Limited, with more capital to better aid thepeople of Central Australia ; seeing good years and bad , but all the time playing its part in the opening up of the country, as old timers will tell you.

To give better service, in 1939 a modern store was built by the company where Fogarty and Co.'s old log building once stood.

TODAY, handling practically every type of merchandise available, they still serve the people of Central Australia .
